WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky State Police are investigating a body found off US 25 in Williamsburg.

The body was discovered on the Kentucky side of the Kentucky-Tennessee border, just north of Jellico, in a building near a Save-A-Lot.

Police have not identified the body but did say it was a man. They believe he died sometime Sunday, but did not get the call until 11:30 Monday morning.

Someone had found the body and called the Whitley County 911 dispatch, who then contacted Kentucky State Police at Post 11.

"Troopers and detectives arrived on scene shortly after and did discover and did discover an adult male deceased inside the building," says Trooper Lloyd Cochran.

The family has been notified. Troopers told our reporter that "suspicious circumstances" surround the investigation, but did not elaborate.

Cochran says there are no suspects at this time.
