PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - In honor of St. Paddy's Day, the color green filled Downtown Pikeville Saturday evening.
From 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. local food vendors and artisans set up to show off their goods.
For those feeling creative, there were art classes available.
"Mama Said String Band" provided some entertainment along with the UPIKE School of Dance.
Andy Litton with the City of Pikeville says it is important to put local businesses at the forefront of everything they do.
"It keeps the money local, keeps everything in town. It keeps everything here locally. That's why we like to get everybody downtown," explained Litton.
There was also a St. Paddy's Day 5K.
Runners received free green beer mugs after completing the race.
Litton says their next downtown event will be held in June.
