Soldier from Richmond dies in Iraq

RICHMOND, Ky. (WYMT/WKYT) - A soldier from Richmond, Kentucky died in Iraq on Saturday.

WKYT reports Ryan Dennis Orin was a fire control specialist stationed out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The Department of Defense says he was deployed to Iraq in December. The department did not say how he died but said it was “a non-combat related accident”.

Riley was 22-year-old. He enlisted in October 2016. His death is under investigation.

Governor Matt Bevin publically recognized Riley's sacrifice on Monday.

"Our hearts are broken for the family of this young Kentucky soldier," said Gov. Bevin. "May God bring peace and comfort to those grieving as only He can."
