(WYMT) - A Severe Weather Alert Day has been issued due to heavy rainfall from thunderstorms causing flooding concerns the next few days.
Sunday and Monday
A cold front will approach the mountains Sunday which will bring soggy conditions back.
Scattered showers and storms will move in Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Storms may pop up in the morning hours, but the bulk of the action will be in the afternoon. Have the rain gear ready to go all day! We'll see partly cloudy skies become mostly cloudy especially by the later overnight hours.
The soggier conditions move in Monday with highs in the upper 70s and overnight lows in the lower 60s.
A few of the showers and storms could be on the stronger side both Sunday and Monday, but we are not expecting any widespread severe storms.
We are keeping our eye on the potential for flooding. A general 1-2 inches looks possible Through Monday night. We will keep you updated.
After the front moves through we will finally get some relief from the heat and sunshine at the same time!
We'll hang onto a few chances early Tuesday but sunshine will return by the afternoon.
Highs look to be in the 70s for Tuesday and Wednesday. Those overnight temperatures will be cooler as well with lows in the 50s.
We'll warm back up slightly by the end of the work week. Highs will be back in the 80s. We look to remain dry for the rest of the work week as well!
