Soggy evening ahead, big cool down Thursday
Widespread rain chances return this evening as a cold front moves late tonight into early Thursday morning.
A cold front is working its way into the mountains this evening which will bring widespread showers and storms back into the mountains. The Storm Prediction Center still has a good portion of the mountains in a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather this evening so a few of those storms could be on the strong side.
By Thursday we should start to see this system get out of our area, but we will hang onto scattered chances throughout the day. I think we will see those mostly cloudy skies throughout the morning with peaks of sunshine by the afternoon. Highs will be very chilly with temperatures only reaching the mid to upper 60s. We clear out as we head into the overnight hours as well which will allow temperatures to drop into the upper 40s.
Sunshine returns by Friday and continues into your Saturday as well! Highs will still be a little bit cooler Friday with temperatures into the mid-70s. By Saturday highs will rebound back into the lower 80s.
By Sunday we bring back those scattered showers and storms. Sadly, it looks like a soggy start to the new work week.
We'll continue to keep an eye on that trend over the next few days.
