Flash Flood Watch issued, soggy and stormy day ahead

(WYMT) - A Severe Weather Alert Day has been issued due to heavy rainfall from thunderstorms causing flooding concerns. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued until 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Flash Flood Watch valid until 2 a.m. Tuesday

Monday
The rain chances really ramp up on Monday as the front moves in and through. We will see showers and storms throughout the day, starting in the morning. Heavy rain and storms are likely at times. We are under a marginal risk for severe weather (1 out of 5) on Monday, but I honestly think the cloud cover and consistent rain chances will knock down any severe storms. It's just the possible flooding we're concerned about at time point. Daytime highs will top out in the upper 70s before dropping into the low 60s overnight.

A general 1-2" of rain is expected through Tuesday morning. Of course, locally higher amounts are possible. Keep it locked here for updates.

Extended Forecast
After that front gets out of here, man oh man, it's going to be perfect! We're going to revert back to spring, at least for a couple of days.

There could be a few lingering showers and clouds early Tuesday, but the skies will clear by the afternoon. Highs will only be in the mid 70s. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. Guess what else will be almost non-existent? The humidity! Get out there and enjoy it.

That beautiful trend continues through late week under sunny skies. Highs Wednesday and Thursday should stay in the upper 70s and low 80s. Overnight lows Tuesday and Wednesday night will be in the 50s. THE 50S!

The forecast looks to stay dry into the weekend, but the heat and humidity will start to creep back in. Our perfect weather couldn't last forever.

Have a great week!
