Sheriff: Man had 11 illegal gambling machines in local business

EAST BERNSTADT, Ky. (WYMT) - A man is behind bars after deputies investigated tips of illegal gambling Monday.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office got several complaints of illegal gambling at Pappys Pool Room on Hwy 490.

When deputies arrived, they found several people gambling and shooting pool. There were 11 "Cherry Master" machines in the building.

Deputies arrested the owner of the pool room, James Adam Peters of McKee. They said he had a ledger detailing the amount of money paid out and the money put into the machines every day.

The machines were confiscated and Peters was put in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Peter faces charges of promoting gambling, possession of gambling records and possession of gambling devices.
