Sheriff: 9 arrested in Laurel Co. home burglary

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Laurel County Sheriff’s Department reported nine people were arrested in a burglary investigation.

The investigation began on October 3rd when a home on Cold Hill Road around 5 miles north of London was broken into.

During the investigation, police discovered several people were in on the burglary. Some drove trucks and trailers hauling multiple household items including water heaters, cabinets, and a bedroom set, to name a few.

Together, more than $20,000 worth of items were stolen from the home. Most of those items were found at a home off Siler Hill in the Knox County area of Corbin.

Arrests through the investigation happened off Cold Hill Rd., North Laurel Lake Rd., West 5th Street, and Vaughn Ridge Rd.

Nine people were arrested in connection throughout the investigation so far.

- Dennis Michael Johnson, 35, of Somerset was charged with second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.
- Ashley Nicole Jones, 36, of London was charged with second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking under $500.
- Frederick Wilt, 48, of Corbin was charged with facilitation to commit burglary.
- Johnny Arthur, 46, of London was charged with theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.
- Robbie Baker, 41, of Williamsburg was charged with second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.
- Lori Ann Havelka, 39, of Gray was charged with theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.
- Patrick Watkins, 53, of London was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trafficking marijuana.
- Teddy Dean Vaughn, 57, of London was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trafficking marijuana.
- Jessica Sizemore, 32, of London was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trafficking marijuana.

More arrests are expected in connection to the thefts. Police also believe they will find more of the stolen items.
