Scattered rain chances return as cold front moves through

By  |

(WYMT) - We broke the record high again today but a cold front will help us cool off later this evening.

That cold front will move in this evening which will provide a few more isolated rain chances. Some of these could start to pop up by the later afternoon into the early evening hours. Friday night football fans, have that rain gear nearby in case you get caught in a pop-up storm.

Overnight lows will still be warm with temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

The Weekend
Those isolated rain chances will continue into your Saturday as that cold front continues to push through the mountains.

It looks like most of the rain chances will be along the Kentucky/Virginia border so those of you going to the UK game later Saturday evening, you will remain dry! Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s with clearing by the overnight hours. Lows will drop into the lower 60s.

Sunday we will see plenty of sunshine with highs in the mid to upper 80s and overnight lows in the lower 60s. Yes, it will still be a warm weekend but at least we are not dealing with the 90s!

Extended Forecast
The overall drier pattern continues as we head into the new workweek.

Highs do not look as warm as this past week which is some good news! Highs look to be in the low to mid-80s with overnight lows in the low to mid-60s.

Right now we could see a stray rain chance or two, but right now we look to remain on the drier side.
