LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - Justin Rowland of Cats Illustrated is reporting that University of Kentucky sophomore quarterback Reese Phillips will transfer from the program.

Phillips would be the second quarterback to transfer from Kentucky in the last month. Senior Patrick Towles, who will be a fifth-year senior in 2016, announced he will play next season at Boston College.

Phillips, a native of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, has appeared in only three games during his time with the Wildcats, with all three appearances coming during the 2014 season.

His only two completions (out of nine total attempts) came in the season opener versus UT-Martin.

Phillips' departure leaves redshirt sophomore Drew Barker as the only scholarship quarterback on Kentucky's roster for the 2016 season. The only other quarterback listed on the current roster is freshman walk-on Davis Mattingly from Male High School in Louisville.

Mark Stoops and his staff did sign a quarterback in the class of 2016; Gunner Hoak, out of Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio.
