(WYMT) - Our WYMT Severe Weather Alert Day coverage continues on this Tuesday. A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Eastern and Southern Kentucky. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for parts of Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee. Both of those run through this afternoon or early evening.
A Wind Advisory goes into effect at 1 p.m. today going through 1 a.m. tonight for a good chunk of the viewing area. You can find those details on our main page on WYMT.com.
Mostly cloudy skies will continue tonight with rain showers slowly ending. The cold front will swing through tonight bringing temperatures down into the upper 20s to lower 30s. Expect winds to be gusty tonight and into the Wednesday morning hours.
Clouds will clear out by Wednesday with mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. Wednesday will be where we keep our eyes on the river forecast. Crests are expected to occur on Wednesday. Highs will reach the low-mid 40s on Wednesday. Winds will continue out of the west at 10-15 mph throughout the day.
For Valentine's Day, weather will be mild with highs in the upper 50s but clouds will be increasing throughout the day with rain chances very late Thursday night. Dinner plans look dry!
Rain chances will be the main story for Friday with highs in the mid-50s. Mostly cloudy skies and showers are expected for the end of the work week. Cold temperatures will slowly work back into the forecast, allowing for a transition to snow late Friday and into Saturday. We will keep an eye on that weekend system in the coming days.
Even now, the weekend looks to feature some rain/snow chances. We will keep an eye out on the weekend forecast and have more tonight on WYMT.
