(WYMT) - A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Eastern and Southern Kentucky. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for parts of Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee. Both of those run through Tuesday afternoon or early evening. This is why a Severe Weather Alert Day has been issued.
Tonight and Tomorrow
Lows tonight will be in the lower 50s early this evening. Temperatures will actually increase overnight. By the time we wake up, we could be looking at temperatures near 60! Once again, rain chances will be the main story.
Highs will get close to 60 on Tuesday before crashing that night behind the front. A few spots could be in the lower 60s before the actual front moves through. We will keep an eye on the high water issues. Lows will dive to around 30 by Wednesday morning. We could also see a few snowflakes before the system exits the area. Any snow will have a really tough time sticking with warm ground temperatures.
Once this system moves through we will start to clear out Wednesday with a stray chance for snow in the morning. Highs will in the low to mid-40s with overnight lows in the low to mid-30s.
For Valentine's Day, weather will be mild with highs in the upper 50s but clouds will be increasing throughout the day with rain chances very late Thursday night. Dinner plans look dry!
Another system could be moving into the mountains later in the work week.
We will continue to update you on air, online, and on the WYMT Weather App.
