PIKEVILLE, Ky, (WYMT) - The Pikeville Main Street Program welcomed its newest business Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting for Bridgett's Quilting and Fabric Shop.
The shop, which opened on Division Street, offers fabrics and quilting supplies, provides repairs and restorations and plans to host classes and workshops for people to learn more about the craft.
Kitty Dougoud, program administrator for the Kentucky Main Street Program, was also in attendance. She said businesses like Bridgett's helps the community grow.
"We have been doing that across the state a lot this year. And we're really excited about the downtown revitalization," Dougoud said.
She said Pikeville's Main Street Program, directed by Minta Trimble, is one of the strongest programs in bringing businesses to the streets.
The store is open Monday through Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., with extended hours Thursday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
