Proposed bill would allow people to carry guns in currently restricted areas

State lawmakers have pre-filed a bill to make it easier for Kentuckians to carry guns into public places.

Republican Robert Goforth of East Bernstadt told the Herald-Leader his bill would allow gun owners with concealed carry licenses to be armed in places like daycare centers, schools, bars, and at government meetings.

Lawmakers considered similar legislation last winter but none of those measures passed.
