UPDATE | One flown to hospital after shooting in Ashland

ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ/WYMT)- Update 11:10 p.m.
One person has been flown to the hospital after they were shot Sunday evening in Ashland.

Police say it happened just before 8:30 at a home on 29th Street near the intersection of Beech Street.

Ashland Police Chief Todd Kelley said officers are expected to be on scene for several hours canvassing the scene.

No one is in custody at this time. Kelley says the shooter took off from the scene.

The victim’s name has not been released, and their condition is not known.

Police are responding to a shooting in Ashland Sunday evening.

Boyd County dispatchers tell our sister station WSAZ it happened along 29th Street.

A reporter at the scene says officers are focused on a home near the intersection of Beech Street.

There is no word on any injuries, or if anyone is in custody.
