Police are trying to help owners of a small business in Whitley County. They say a trailer was stolen during the weekend.

Owners say the store is a small business that depends on every cent they get, for their income.

"If you have a good year you do pretty good, if you have a bad year then you're hurting," says Co-Owner Harold Prewitt.

Prewitt says this has been a good year for the store all -around, until Tuesday.

The owners at Prewitt Farm Supply said they were standing on the porch outside their business Tuesday when they noticed one of their trailers was missing.

Co-owner Dean Prewitt said he had the farm supply business since 1996 and nothing had ever been stolen until now.

"What's next? You know you have things that you can't put under lock and key all the time. So, you wonder you know, what's next? You can't stay up all night and guard it," said Dean Prewitt.

The trailer costs between $1,500 and $2,200. It will also cost an additional $2,000 to put up security cameras. This is a big hit for a small local business.

That money is something that managers say was put back, as they never expected something to be stolen on Angel Road, especially when they live just across the road.

"You don't put money back for replacing stolen stuff. So, it's, it's, pretty bad. We'll just have to work through it," says manager Jason Prewitt.

Anyone with information on the stolen trailer is asked to contact the Whitley County Sheriff's Department.
