LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT/WKYT) – Multiple police agencies teamed up for a county-wide drug roundup in search of 18 people wanted on drug trafficking charges.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, London City Police, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and the U.S. Marshal Service worked together as part of the DEA’s “Operation Crystal Mountain” Monday morning.

Four teams with arrest warrants based on three months of undercover investigations arrested 16 suspects. One other person was arrested on other outstanding charges.

One of the searches was at a home on Brown Lane in London, where investigators found meth, pipes, scales, snorting straws, cash and plastic baggies.

"It was definitely a success. We've already started preparing for a roundup in the near future," said Laurel County Sheriff John Root.

Those arrested include:

Wanda Minton, 57, of London charged with three counts of meth trafficking.
Beverly Fields, 58, of London charged with meth trafficking.
Robert W. House, 44, of London charged with meth trafficking.
Shirley Wilson, 39, of London charged with failure to appear on charges of drug trafficking.
Elvis Hubbard, 52, of London charged with meth trafficking.
Emanuel Lee Hoskins, 45, of Corbin charged with meth trafficking. He also faces earlier charges in Laurel District Court. While he was being processed by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, deputies said he tried to escape but was caught before he left the building. Hoskins was then charged with second-degree escape.
Heather A. Ledford, 37, of Keavy charged with oxycodone trafficking and a Knox County warrant for drug trafficking.
Millard L. Smith, 62, of Corbin charged with Suboxone trafficking.
April Wilder, 39, of London charged with meth trafficking and a warrant for failure to appear in court on drug trafficking charges.
Reva Moore, 51, of London charged with meth trafficking.
Samantha Garland, 28, of London charged with opiates trafficking.
Joshua Garland, 33, of London charged with opiates trafficking.
Robbie Jones, 38, of London charged with oxycodone trafficking.
William Tucker, 27, of Cannon charged with meth trafficking.
Adam R. Grubb, 34, of Corbin charged with meth trafficking and a warrant for failure to appear in court for drug possession.
John T. Jones, 28, of Corbin, who was already in the Knox County Detention Center, charged with meth trafficking and conspiracy to traffic drugs.
David Hubbard, 50, of Lily was arrested of Byble Road on a warrant for terroristic threatening.

Police said more arrests will come out of the investigation. Sheriff Root hopes this roundup will send a message.

"I made a pledge when I ran for sheriff nine years ago that on the first day, we would start working on drugs. It's discouraging to see that it still goes on. I'm sure when I'm gone on, it'll still be happening. But as long as I'm here, we're going to continue to do the things that we did yesterday," said Sheriff Root. "My message to the people that's thinking about selling meth or that is selling meth, they better sleep with one eye open because we're coming for them."
