PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT)- Deputies in Pulaski County say they are investigating a shooting.

It happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday night in the Eubank community at 416 Northern Crossing.

"911? We need officers at 415 Northern Crossing. There's been a shooting. Two guys been shot across the road from us," said a concerned neighbor. "There's one laying in the yard and the other one's in the road. There's one who is almost in our driveway, sitting on the road. They've been at each other I assume. I don't know."

Neighbors initially thought two people had been shot, but police say only one person was shot.

Deputies say Dustin Sparkman, 35, was shot in the chest or stomach area. He was flown to UK Hospital.

Joseph Sparkman, 56, was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment of a knee injury.

Officials say witnesses told them a family dispute led to a physical fight. They say a 17-year-old shot Dustin, his uncle, to protect Joseph, his grandfather.

The teen was not arrested, and Dustin has been released from the hospital.

Both Dustin and Joseph lived at the home in Eubank.
