SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Salyersville Police arrested a man who they said tried to shock a woman.

Police said they got a call on Sunday that a woman was at her neighbor's home needing help.

The woman said Merritt Salyer plugged a hairdryer into an outlet and tried to put it in her bathwater. He then allegedly accused her of cheating, pulled her hair and hit her.

Police officers said the inside of the bathroom was damaged from the fight. The hot water heater was damaged, the door was off its hinges and there was water everywhere.

The woman told police Salyer's blood sugar was low at the time. She was then taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

Salyer was charged with second-degree assault and taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
