LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - A man is facing several charges after a two-county chase.

London Police said an officer found Michael Lewis, 53, in an improperly parked car near Levi Jackson State Park.

As the officer got closer to the car, Lewis drove away, police said.

Once the officer was able to get Lewis to pull over, he said he smelled alcohol and saw vodka bottles inside. Police asked for consent to search the vehicle when Lewis drove off a second time.

He drove into Clay County, where officers used stingers to deflate one of his tires. Lewis kept going, making several turns and driving through a few homes' yards before stopping in downtown Manchester.

After a scuffle, officers arrested Lewis and charged him with possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, first-degree fleeing or evading police, driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest and various traffic violations. He was booked in the Laurel County Detention Center.
