Pineville family's Polaris RZR 800 and trailer stolen from yard

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Day family woke up Tuesday morning to find their Polaris RZR 800 and a borrowed trailer stolen from their yard on Virginia Avenue in Pineville.

One of the hardest parts of the theft for homeowner Daniel Day is having to tell his two young kids that the RZR they take out on the weekends, won't there this week.

"It's kind of hard to explain to them why they no longer have their toy. Uh, that somebody came it took it without asking and they didn't bring it back," says Day.

It is also troublesome for the Day family that they had their piece of mind at their home jeopardized.

"It makes you feel different about your home. Uh, if your family is safe and what people will do, what means they'll go to to take from you," says Day.

Now, Day is out $7,000 for the RZR and $2,000 for the trailer he borrowed from work if they are not found.

Day says he has heard other people in the area dealing with similar thefts.

"I know other people who are suffering just like me and my family. It feels real bad to have it done to you, you know," Days adds.

Police say they have been working around the clock looking for surveillance video and looking into every lead they get.

"It's uh, disheartening. We just really are trying to help these people get their belongings back," says Pineville Police Department Officer Brandon Hollingsworth.

Pineville police say if you have any information on the theft, call (606) 337-2207.

Day says the Polaris RZR 800 is black and burnt orange, he says the trailer is black.

The Day family is offering a $500 reward for anyone that can lead police to the arrest of the culprits and get the items back.
