PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The City of Pikeville opened its new visitors center Tuesday in the East Kentucky Exposition Center.
City Manager Philip Elswick said the center has been on the drawing board for a while.
"This is something we felt like we needed, to draw more people into Pikeville and give them somewhere they could go to get all the information they need about the city and our tourist activities, but also the county and the region. We wanted to be a one-stop-shop, so to speak," Elswick said.
Information and souvenirs are available at the center, which can be accessed through the Main Street entrance of the Expo Center.
