Pike County rehabilitation center owner arrested on DUI charge
The owner of a Pike County rehabilitation center was arrested on a DUI charge in Pikeville Tuesday.
Eugene Sisco III of Pikeville was arrested by the Pikeville Police Department and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
State records show Sisco is the owner of Brookside Residential Treatment in Pikeville.
Police said they spotted Sisco driving a black Jeep Wrangler in Pike County July 31st and say he was weaving from one side of the road to the other.
When police pulled over Sisco, an officer said he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Sisco.
An officer also found an open alcoholic beverage container inside the jeep.
Police asked Sisco to perform multiple field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Sisco was placed in custody and taken to Pikeville Medical Center for a blood test.
After talking with his lawyer, Robert Chaney, hospital staff drew Sisco's blood for testing.
Sisco requested to have a second blood test taken at his own expense.
We reached out to Sisco's lawyer for a comment.
"It is not my practice to comment on the merits of pending legal matters and proceedings, but I will say Mr. Sisco is innocent until proven otherwise, and we anticipate and expect a positive outcome in this situation," said Chaney.
