PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Pike County Sheriff's Office is asking for any information that could lead to the identity of the person responsible for stealing equipment from the Pike County Landfill last week.

According to Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Orem, a John Deere Skid-Steer was reported missing from the Ford Mountain Landfill on October 7.

A tip was sent to the department, informing officers that equipment matching the description of the missing equipment was seen in the Joe’s Fork area of Pike County.

Deputies verified the equipment and recovered it, undamaged, and are now investigating how it ended up there.

“Any information that we can get about who might have taken the equipment or may have seen it being transported to Joe’s Creek, we have a Facebook post and we also have a tip line,” Orem said.

Orem said anyone with information can contact the tip line at (606)766-5555.
