IRVINE, Ky. (WYMT/WKYT) - Updated, October 19
More than a week later, Casey Myers is still missing after his escape in Estill County.
Myers was in handcuffs when he was moved from the courthouse and ran away before officers could put him in a vehicle. He was last seen on Church Street.
Our sister station WKYT reports Myers was charged with burglary and theft when he was originally arrested, but may now face more charges.
Police say it is hard to do a thorough search of the area Myers disappeared in.
"It's a heavily wooded area. Very easy to get into those woods and I mean, it's impossible to cover every square inch of the woods," said Sgt. John Sturniolo with Irvine Police.
Authorities are following some leads and are relying on community reports to help find Myers.
