Overturned semi leads to fatal car crash on I-75 in Lexington

Interstate 75 has reopened in Lexington after two crashes involving tractor-trailers.

The first happened just before 3 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the northern split.

A semi-truck overturned near exit 118 on Tuesday morning. When traffic began to back up, a Ford Mustang slammed into the back of a different semi.

The driver of the Mustang had serious injuries that we now know to be fatal.

The southbound lanes were shut down for several hours while crews clear the accident scenes..

Officers tell WKYT they are now focusing on rerouting traffic to I-64.
