HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Your Friday Eve will kick off mild once again, but some big changes are on the way as we head toward the end of the week. Buckle up.
Today and Tonight
Look for sun and clouds for much of today. There will be more clouds around at times, but we will stay dry. After starting off in the 50s, we'll make another run at the low 80s across the board.
Unfortunately, our dry weather comes to an end late this evening as the front approaches. Rain chances will pick up under mostly cloudy skies tonight. Lows will drop into the mid to upper 50s.
Your Good Friday forecast looks soggy throughout the mountains. Highs will reach the low to mid-60s early Friday morning with temperatures dropping throughout the day as the cold front swings through. Overnight lows will drop into the lower 40s. Some spots could easily drop into the mid to upper 30s.
This low-pressure system looks to track right over our region which will keep the soggy conditions in the mountains for Saturday. Highs will only reach the low 50s with overnight lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
The good news is by Easter Sunday southwesterly flow will return and bring 70s back into the mountains. It looks like the skies will clear as well. It'll be a perfect day for Easter egg hunting!
Dry and sunny conditions continue into the new work week. Highs look to be back into the upper 70s to maybe even 80 for the first half of the week.
Scattered rain chances look to return Tuesday as well. We'll continue to monitor this throughout the week.
