One more hot day in the mountains before a cold front arrives

(WYMT) - It looks like the record-breaking heat continued into today but will it continue into Friday?

Tonight and Tomorrow
This hot weather continues this evening and into tomorrow as well.

We will continue to see those mostly clear skies tonight with overnight lows dropping into the upper 60s to lower 70s.

It looks like we will see one more 90-degree day with highs in the lower 90s once again Friday. We will start the day with plenty of sunshine with clouds slightly increasing by the evening and overnight hours as a cold front moves into the mountains.

We could see a stray chance for a shower or two throughout the day, but the best chance will be later in the evening and overnight hours. I think the bulk of the scattered showers will move in after Friday night football but have the rain gear just in case you get caught in a pop-up shower!

The Weekend
Scattered rain chances do continue into your Saturday but highs will be cooler with temperatures in the low to mid-80s!

We will hang onto those isolated rain chances as that cold front continues to push through the mountains. If you are heading to the UK game you should not have to worry about the rain. The best chance for rain will be along the Kentucky/Virginia border.

Sunday we will see mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low to mid-80s and overnight lows in the mid-60s.

Extended Forecast
The overall drier pattern continues as we head into the new workweek.

Highs do not look as warm as this past week which is some good news! Highs look to be in the low to mid-80s with overnight lows in the low to mid-60s.

Right now we could see a stray rain chance or two, but right now we look to remain on the drier side.
