Update: Husband, wife identified after apparent murder-suicide in Letcher County

Kentucky State Police say they are investigating what they suspect is a murder-suicide.

Troopers arrived at the scene near KY-15 in the Isom community of Letcher County around 8:23 Monday night.

KSP officials with post 13 out of Hazard tell us a family member found a husband and wife in their garage with gunshot wounds.

The Letcher County Coroner pronounced Dempsey Cole, 61, and Tonya Cole, 55, dead at the scene.

"All avenues of investigation, evidence and so forth will be looked at and checked upon, both victims were sent to the state medical examiners office in Frankfort for an autopsy," said Jody Sims with Kentucky State Police. "If anything arises that causes this investigation to take a different route, then without a doubt, all those will be taken."

An update on the two bodies found near Isom in Letcher County. As of now it looks like an apparent murder-suicide.
