(WYMT/WKYT) - Our sister station WKYT reports state officials are warning Kentucky travelers to watch out for credit card skimmers.
Scammers use skimmers to collect personal information when people pay for gas.
Inspectors are keeping a close eye on gas stations for credit card skimmers that may be at the pumps.
"This is an additional service that we're providing to tax payers in Kentucky at no additional cost," said Ryan Quarles, Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner. "So we encouraged Kentuckians to be a part of this effort. Please report any tampered-with, pried-open doors or gas pumps that look like they've been compromised to the local gas station attendant."
