HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A new pavilion is almost complete in downtown Hazard.
The city received a grant in 2016 from the Division of Water to build the new venue.
Happy Mobelini, Mayor of Hazard, says the pavilion might not be complete for the upcoming North Fork Music Festival, but after completion, anyone is welcome to use it.
"We are starting to have music festivals. We are having the first one on the 26th and 27th of July but it probably won't be here at that time it would be at the other end of town. Outdoor theater, church group anybody can use the pavilion anytime they want to use it.”
Officials say they hope to have the pavilion completed by the end of July and that it will be ready to use during the Black Gold Festival in September.
