New Perry County ordinance bans smoking inside and near public buildings

PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Perry County officials moved to protect people from secondhand smoke.

The Fiscal Court recently passed a smoke-free ordinance.

Health officials said the ordinance means no smoking, including e-cigarettes, within 15 feet of any public door or window, or inside any public workplace.

The ordinance is effective immediately.

The City of Hazard did the same thing a few years ago.
