HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - In Letcher County, there will be a new fiscal court starting in January.
Longtime Judge Executive Jim Ward was defeated by Magistrate Terry Adams.
Ward, who has served three terms, said while he was disappointed in the results, he will continue to serve the people even after leaving office.
"I do really appreciate all the support I was given through the years. You know, I'm still going to be here in the county. I'm still going to be active," said Ward.
Adams says he is excited to start with a clean slate and is ready to get to work.
"We've got 5 new magistrates and a new county judge. There's no baggage. I think we'll all work together well and I look forward to bonding with the magistrates and working for the people."
