Ben Braman is on a tear across Hazard and Perry County working with Perry County Pathfinders and others to bring trails and outdoor activities to the area.

Until mid-April, he will have a crew from Americorps NCCC helping him build a trail at the Black Gold Plaza that loops around the ARH Medical Mall.

"With Pathfinders, we're doing some trail work over here," said Aaron Brown with Americorps NCAA.

The group is from all across the Nation and is a service organization that allows students to volunteer time and service to possibly find a path in life they want to follow.

"We do a lot of trail work just in general for the work that we do and I think it brings the community out at that is really important for building the community," said Brown.

Brown and his group are learning new tricks from Braman who is a veteran when it comes to building trails.

"Uhh a lot you know the work we're doing right now we have done similar work but he has his own technique," said Brown as he watched his team work with Braman. "I'm learning more about the trail making process and we're learning more than we have before."

When complete the trail will be a mile long.
