Officials tell

a loud boom could be heard Tuesday night in several Eastern Kentucky counties.

The boom is the conversation of the county. Jackson County 911 received several reports of earth-shaking sound.

"Well at about 6:19 yesterday evening a couple people called in and said they heard this loud boom in the county and uh we went to check on it and in the area and we never found anything," said one county official.

Devonna Hisel lives in the northern part of the county and says the mysterious boom shook the foundation of her house and scared a few of her neighbors.

"We've had to shake the house before but not so much we have a little dog that jumped and that never happened before," said Hisel.

Officials say there are no reports of damage. Until then, the mystery continues in "Boom Town".
