"Music for Miners" proceeds to go to Blackjewel miners in Bell County

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Bell County is hosting a concert Friday night to raise money for Blackjewel miners in the area.

The concert, called "Music for Miners", is from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Bell Theater in Pineville.

Those performing include Eric Bolander, John Clay, Brandon Fulson, Dave Shoemaker, Sydney Adams, Jade Robertson and Madison Lewis.

Anyone who wants to make monetary donations can write a check to Bell County Tourism with a memo for the Blackjewel Miner Relief Fund.

"This is the first time I have ever not gotten paid for the money that I worked for, you know," said Jim Miracle, a Blackjewel miner. "So just having the community step up and do something like this, makes you feel kind of special."

Another "Music for Miners" concert will be held at the same place and time on Saturday, August 24.

Performers at the second concert include Laid Back Country Picker, Tony Logue, Tyler Smith, Ben Boggs, Dakota Saylor, Chris Blake, Tim Goodin and Daniel Chumley.
