County officials tell us multiple Harlan County fire departments were called to a fire Friday afternoon.

The fire was on Daniel Hill in Baxter, off Airport Road.

Judge-Executive Dan Mosley said the fire started around 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. and burned two outbuildings and three cars. The fire then spread into the mountain and threatened several homes in the Airport Road community.

Emergency crews are on the scene dealing with the fire. Firefighters from Harlan, Sunshine, Loyall, Wallins, Evarts and Upper Cloverfork Fire Departments responded to the call.

Harlan County Emergency Management and Division of Forestry were also at the fire.

There have been no reports of injuries due to the fire. Please take care if you are in the area.

We will update this with more information.
