Mixture of sun and clouds, stray rain chance north

By  |

(WYMT) - A low-pressure system to our north is providing partly cloudy skies for Eastern Kentucky.

Tonight and Monday
A weak cold front will be moving through the mountains tonight but it looks like those rain chances remain to our north, still can't rule out a stray shower for the counties along I-64 this evening. Overnight we will hang onto a few clouds and see temperatures drop into the lower 30s.

That cold front might not bring us rain chances but it does cool us down for your Monday. Highs will top out into the upper 40s to lower 50s with a few clouds throughout the day. By the overnight hours, we will see clear skies and low temperatures into the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Next Week
The good news is we remain dry for a few more days before those scattered rain chances return.

Tuesday, we will wake up to mostly sunny skies and clouds will increase later ahead of a system moving into the mountains. Highs will be in the low to mid-50s with lows in the mid-50s.

By Wednesday and Thursday, we will see scattered rain chances return. It looks like the bulk of the showers could be late Wednesday into early Thursday. For Wednesday and Thursday highs will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s! This system looks brief so I think we could see a little bit of sunshine both days.

We'll continue to monitor this system throughout the next few days.

Good news is we could see warmer temperatures by the end of the week!
