HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - You're going to wake up to much warmer temperatures today, so enjoy that. We'll also see nice and warm conditions later today too.
Today and Tomorrow
We'll see a few clouds today, but overall, the pattern stays nice. Look for mainly sunny skies with highs in the low 80s. Tonight, we pick up a few more clouds and lows will only drop to around 60.
We'll start Thursday with sun and clouds, but those clouds will quickly increase ahead of the cold front that moves in Thursday night. Rain chances will pick up in the late evening and overnight hours, but I think we'll stay dry and mild during the day, with highs again in the low 80s.
The greatest chance for rain will be Good Friday and Saturday. A cold front will move into the mountains Friday bringing soggy conditions into the mountains. Highs will reach the mid to upper 60s early Friday with temperatures dropping throughout the day. Overnight lows will drop into the lower 40s.
This low-pressure system looks to track right over our region which will keep the soggy conditions in the mountains for Saturday. Highs will only reach the mid-50s with overnight lows in the lower 40s.
The good news is by Easter Sunday southwesterly flow will return and bring 70s back into the mountains. It looks like the skies will clear as well. A stray rain chance is possible early in the morning but we do remain dry for those Easter egg hunts Sunday afternoon.
Dry and sunny conditions continue into the new work week. Highs look to be back into the upper 70s by Monday and Tuesday.
Scattered rain chances look to return Tuesday as well. We'll continue to monitor this throughout the week.
