HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - It's sure been a hot one across the region. Hope you were able to stay cool. After a warm night, we have another steamy day on the way to start the new work and school week.
Tonight, Tomorrow and Tuesday
Lows tonight will only drop into the upper 60s in most locations under mostly clear skies. Our old friend fog will make its way into the region late tonight and early tomorrow morning.
Sunny skies on Monday takes us right back to around 90 degrees for a daytime high. A stray chance for a shower or storm can't be ruled out, but don't expect much. We add in a few clouds and better chances for scattered showers and storms on Tuesday. Highs will still be close to 90. Overnight lows both nights will be near 70.
Heat indices Monday and Tuesday will be in the mid to upper 90s. I would not suggest spending time outside. If you have to be outside, take plenty of breaks, stay hydrated and wear sunscreen.
The typical late summer pattern continues on Wednesday as rain chances stay scattered, mainly in the heat of the day. We will end the week with a daily shot of afternoon showers on Friday and Saturday as well. Highs during the period will generally be in the mid to upper 80s with lows in the mid to upper 60s.
