Middlesboro Police arrest Tennessee man after finding stolen firearm

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT)- One man is in custody after Middlesboro Police found several items in his car.

According to the citation, police pulled over 35-year-old William Fred Allen of Harrogate, Tennessee around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Allen’s rear license plate was not illuminated and he was not wearing a seat belt.

After police pulled the vehicle over, they found a .38 caliber handgun lying on the passenger seat, which they later confirmed was stolen.

Police also found a scale with residue and two bags with a clear rock-like substance, believed to be Methamphetamine and a metal collapsible baton.

Allen has been booked in the Bell County Detention Center.

He faces several charges including carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property and trafficking a controlled substance.
