WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A man suspected of murder in Whitley County pleaded not guilty in federal court to drug charges.

Police believe Daniel Nantz shot his pregnant girlfriend, Geri Johnson, earlier this month. She died at the hospital. Doctors were able to deliver her baby girl, but the infant died a few days later.

Police have not charged Nantz with murder, but they are presenting the case to a grand jury. On top of murder, he could also face fetal homicide charges.

According to a federal affidavit, Nantz is a suspect in an undercover investigation that resulted in the sale of meth from a source in Louisville to people in Corbin. Those are the charges he pleaded not guilty to Thursday.
