Man wants pothole filled in on Highway 15 after he says it damaged his car
A Perry County man is calling on CSX to fix a large pothole in the middle of a rail crossing along Highway 15 near R.W. Combs Elementary.
"Someone is going to hit that and end up having a terrible wreck there," said the man, who wanted to remain anonymous.
The man said the pothole has been there for at least two months. He claims the metal rods sticking out of the concrete on the rail crossing put a hole in his wife's tire.
"If you hit that thing just right, it's gonna bust your tire," he said.
WYMT reached out to CSX to get an update on when they plan on fixing the pothole, and the company released this statement:
“Thank you for bringing this to our attention. CSX takes concerns over crossing safety very seriously because maintaining railroad infrastructure is essential in preventing accidents and ensuring reliable freight service to our customers. The location has been reported to our engineering team and maintenance crews will review the crossing to determine the scope of work and schedule repairs. Members of the community who have a concern about a CSX crossing can alert us by completing the “Contact Us” form at www.csx.com and a company representative will respond to the inquiry as soon as possible.”
