One man is behind bars in Perry County after he broke into a business in the Coalfields Industrial Park and accidentally set off an emergency alarm.

Officials with the Perry County Sheriff's Office say Robert LeCrone climbed over the barbed wire fence outside the Fed Ex building late Monday evening. Once inside, police say he broke into the building and began damaging the pipes that are part of the emergency sprinkler system.

In doing so, the fire alarm for the building was activated and a page was sent out to Grapevine Chavies Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, Perry County Sheriff's Office, and others.

When first responders arrived, they found LeCrone sitting by the front door with blood on his hands and on his shirt.

"It appeared to be mostly water damage. And it was to different areas of the building", said Chief Deputy Tony Eversole of the Perry County Sheriff's Office. "It was significant. That's the reason he was charged with a felony."

Authorities say they found what appears to be meth on LeCrone when they arrested him. He is charged with burglary, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance, and public intoxication.
