SOMERSET, Ky. (WYMT) - Police arrested a man early Thursday morning who they believe committed two robberies.

The Apples Wine and Spirits robbery happened on December 28 of last year in Somerset.

The Cash Express robbery happened on January 7 of this year in Burnside.

After watching surveillance video, detectives were able to conclude both suspects appeared to be the same person.

The video also helped detectives identify a car involved in the Cash Express robbery. The car was registered to Douglas Meadows.

Detectives found meadows hiding in the attic of his home in Pulaski County. At his home, detectives found similar clothing to what they saw in video evidence along with a weapon used in both robberies.

Detectives said Meadows confessed to both robberies.

Meadows is charged with robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

Meadows was taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center.
