Small plane makes emergency landing in Lexington near Blue Grass Airport
Lexington firefighters responded to reports of an emergency plan landing not far from Blue Grass Airport Saturday afternoon.
Tiffany Hart, an official from Blue Grass Airport, said the event happened just before four Saturday afternoon. Hart said the Bonanza plane's engine began having troubles and failed. She said the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at Calumet Farm, which is not far from the airport.
Police say two people were on board and did not complain of any injuries. Both were checked out at the scene but not taken by ambulance.
No flights at Blue Grass Airport were delayed because of the emergency landing.
The FAA will be conducting an investigation but it could take them a few days due to the government shutdown just reopening.
The plain will remain on the far for now.
