It is a time to honor those who risked their life and never forget the ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

"Without the veterans even from the revolutionary time till today.. without their scarifies, we wouldn't be here right now," said Letcher Central's JROTC cadet Isaiah McCall.

So whether you are young or old, paying respect is something we all can do.

"Us military people have big emotions when it comes down to that," explained Army veteran Darrell Holbrook.

Many of today's children do not understand what veterans and their families went through which is why Letcher Central County High School's JROTC program teaches their young cadets how to pay tribute to the ones who sacrificed so much.

"All the things I have learned about the uniform, the military, all the opportunities I have in the world pretty much is from this program," said McCall as he explained what JROTC meant to him.

As these future leaders carry on such a valuable and sacred tradition, veterans can not help but gleam with pride.
