BIG LAUREL, Ky. (WYMT) - Leslie County Native Drew Howard holds four teenage bench press world titles.
Those four titles did not come easy, but after a little discipline and dedication, his hard work began to pay off.
"I sort of got into trouble in high school and stuff but powerlifting really saved me," explained Howard.
Now he is not only winning titles, but he has also started spreading his message to others.
"I do high schools, prisons, just really anywhere that will book me," Howard says.
Letting people know that there is hope for you, no matter what you have been through.
"It is like the Rocky quote, it ain't about how hard you can hit it is about how hard you can get hit. Keep moving forward."
At only 20 years old Howard said his career is just getting started because four world record titles is simply not enough.
"My ultimate goal is to be the all-time world record holder."
Howard will be competing for his fifth world title in Staton, Kentucky on October 12th.
