A mobile home explosion has destroyed a home and injured two people in Lawrence County.

The explosion happened on Kentucky Highway 469 near Highway 32.

Lawrence County Emergency Management told WYMT the explosion is thought to have been caused by propane gas.

The home was destroyed and the explosion damaged parts of the Post Office next door and blew out a window on the home across the street.

One person suffered critical injuries while the other had serious injuries and both patients were flown to a trauma center.

The Blaine, Isonville and Red Bush Fire Departments along with Lawrence County Emergency Management responded to the explosion.

The State Fire Marshal says they will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
