LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Kroger says it is dropping the prices of nine essential items, beginning Wednesday.

116 stores in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois are participating.

The nine items included in the price cut are eggs, chicken, bread, bananas, butter, sugar, head lettuce, milk and chocolate milk.

Kroger says to also keep an eye out for yellow price tags that will give new savings as part of its summer 'REFRESH' campaign.

Customers do not need a loyalty card to take advantage of these sales.

“Kroger is priced right as we do what’s right and take care of our customers,” Kroger’s Louisville Division President Ann Reed said. “Kroger is a great place to shop where you find friendly service, food inspiration and amazing value. That’s why we have been serving Kentucky and nearby states for 90 years.”
